Methods of making a full-color organic light-emitting display |
abstract |
A method of making a full color organic light emitting display, the method comprising ink-jet printing of a fluorescent dopant selected to emit red, green or blue light from a designated subpixel of the display. do. The dopant is continuously printed from an ink-jet printing composite that allows printing of the dopant layer on the light emitting layer comprising the host material selected to emit host light in the blue spectral region. The dopant then exposes the light emitting layer and dopant layer to the vapor of the fluid or fluid mixture and diffuses from the dopant layer into the light emitting layer. When the ink-jet printing composite is formulated with a printing fluid having fluid vapor that promotes dopant diffusion, the ink-jet printing step and the dopant diffusion step can be combined to form a selectively doped light emitting layer. |
