The present invention reacts an amino acid alkylester mineral acid salt with an acrylonitrile in the presence of an inorganic base in an alcoholic medium to produce an N-cyanoethyl amino acid alkyl ester, which is then converted to a dialkyl dicarbonate. And N-alkoxycarbonyl-N-cyanoethyl amino acid alkyl ester in high yield. |
