abstract |
A method for improving purification efficiency is disclosed by adding substituted aromatic amines with electron donor substituents before the distillation column when the aldehyde contaminants are distilled off during the chemical preparation process. This method is particularly useful for removing aldehydes, such as acrolein, produced as a byproduct in acrylonitrile production. Preferred aromatic amines are 2-amino aniline, 3,4-dimethyl aniline and 4-ethyl aniline. |
