abstract |
The present invention relates to a detachable fastener component for use with a complementary detachable fastener component having a base member with a nominally fixed surface and a non-fixed surface. The fastening member pattern retained on the fastening surface includes a fastening member retaining interior region independent of the cover. The inner region, which is generally surrounded by the peripheral region, has a shielded fastening member. The peripheral area of the shielded fastening member may be annular, rectangular or non-rectangular. The fastening member may be a hook or a loop. The stationary component can be integrated in the molded product with minimal influx of casting material into the stationary member of the main region. The perimeter cover forms a gasket seal with a mold of a different type and prevents the inflow of casting material into the exposed inner region of the fastening member. Since the exposed interior area functions normally, the peripheral cover does not need to be removed for use of the fastener component. Assembly line methods for making stationary components and methods for manipulating stationary components into articles are disclosed. |
