titleOfInvention | Cell searching method in asynchronous wideband code division multiple access system |
abstract | The present invention relates to a cell search method in an asynchronous wideband code division multiple access system. In an asynchronous wideband code division multiple access system, a long code is obtained by using a position of a synchronization channel code with respect to a slot start point by one synchronization channel. It is an object of the present invention to provide a cell search method for providing code group and frame synchronization information. In the cell search method, the mobile station acquires an arbitrary starting point among the positions of a plurality of sync channel codes in a frame for the base station with the least path loss. Long code groups and frame synchronization information are obtained based on the output of the matched filter at every mini slot clock position for one frame time after the start of the current mini slot. Based on the long code group and frame synchronization information, the mobile station detects the current base station long code for spreading the bandwidth of the forward link. According to the present invention, a cell can be searched using one sync channel, and a separate parallel correlator for obtaining long code group information and 10 msec frame sync information is not required, and orthogonality is maintained between the sync channel and the traffic channel of the forward link.
