abstract | The present invention provides a method of making a wet press paper web. The unformed web of papermaking fibers is formed on the porous molded member and moved to the printing member to deflect a portion of the papermaking fiber of the unformed web into the deflection conduit of the printing member. The web and the printing member are then pressed between the first and second dehydrating felts of the compression nip to further deflect the paper fibers into the deflection conduits of the printing member and remove water from both sides of the web. The first felt is disposed adjacent to the first surface of the web. The printing member is located between the second surface of the web and the second felt. The second felt has a greater breathability than the breathability of the first felt. |
