abstract | Large format refractory clay fire resistant blocks used in tin baths contain materials with fine particles and large particles. The fine particles have a diameter of 0.075 mm or less and they contain 65% by weight or more of SiO 2 and 35% by weight or less of Al 2 O 3 . The microparticles contain an increased weight of alkaline acid and silicic acid and a reduced weight of Al 2 O 3 forming a glass phase in the microparticles. The large particles have a diameter of at least 1,500 mm and they contain up to 65% by weight of SiO 2 and at least 35% by weight of Al 2 O 3 .
