Hydroxycarbonylation Method of Pentenoic Acid |
abstract |
The present invention discloses hydroxycarbonylation of penthenoic acid to adipic acid. More specifically, it relates to a hydroxycarbonylation method of pentenoic acid comprising reacting water and carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst containing at least rhodium and / or iridium and an iodide or bromination catalyst promoter. In this way, the catalyst is derived at least in part from the previous pentenoic acid hydroxycarbonylation operation. The reaction is carried out in the presence of an amount of up to 200 g of carbon 6 side chain carboxylic diacid per kg of the reaction mixture. |
