abstract |
The present invention provides a composite pressure sensitive adhesive microsphere comprising two or more polymers insoluble in water that are within the boundaries of the polymer microspheres and are thoroughly mixed. The series of monomers and polymers should be chosen to enable tailoring the properties of the composite pressure sensitive adhesive microspheres to suit the requirements of the particular performance and / or use. Any polymer that can be dissolved into a solvent monomer or a mixture of solvent monomers can be used to make composite pressure sensitive adhesive microspheres. Pressure sensitive adhesive microspheres according to the present invention can be prepared using free radical suspension polymerization. |
