titleOfInvention Apparatus for manufacturing glass fiber pellets
abstract A system for making densified glass fiber pellets from cut segments of multiple filament glass strands is introduced. The densified ferret is made as follows. That is, the chopped glass strand 24 is hydrated and then tumbled in the rotary drum 41 to pellet, and a composite made of pellets, although sufficient time to increase the density, than the equivalent product made from the unpelleted strand segment. The pellets are tumbled in a rotating zigzag tube or undulating tube 42 for a period of time not sufficient to deteriorate the fiber to a low tensile strength or to a small impact strength, thereby increasing the density.
