Breathable composite sheet structure and absorbent article using the same |
abstract |
The present invention provides a breathable composite sheet material, a method for producing such a sheet material, and an absorbent article using the sheet material. The composite sheet material consists of a thermoplastic film bonded directly to the fibrous substrate. The thermoplastic film comprises at least 50% by weight of polymeric material from the group of block copolyether esters, block copolyether amides and polyurethanes. The substrate comprises at least 50% by weight of a fibrous web of polyolefin polymer synthetic fibers. The peel strength of the composite sheet is 0.1 N / cm or more, the dynamic fluid transfer rate is less than about 0.75 g / m 2 when the impact energy of about 2400 J / m 2 is applied, and the water vapor transfer rate is 1500 g / m according to the hygroscopic method. 2 / at least 24 hours. The absorbent article includes (a) a topsheet; (b) a backsheet comprising said composite sheet material that is nonporous and substantially impermeable to fluids; And (c) an absorbent core located between the top sheet and the backsheet. The composite sheet material is positioned so that the film layer of the composite sheet material faces towards the absorbent core. The absorbent article can include a disposable diaper. |
