IN VIVO Gene Delivery Methods for Wound Treatment |
abstract |
The present invention relates to an in vivo method for specifically targeting and delivering DNA to mammalian repair cells. The delivered DNA includes any DNA that encodes the desired therapeutic protein. The present invention is based on the discovery that mammalian repair cells proliferate and migrate to the wound site to selectively receive and express DNA. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions used to practice the invention to deliver the desired DNA. Such compositions include any suitable matrix in combination with the desired DNA. |
