Prevents overheating and fire of large capacity rechargeable batteries.n n n The positive electrode 1, the negative electrode 2, and the separator 3 have a basic structure. The positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2 are coated with the active materials 5a and 5b on the metal foils 4a and 4b, respectively, and are connected to the electrode terminals to the portions 6a and 6b where the active materials are not coated. Tabs 7a and 7b are attached. In the present invention, the overcoating 12 is coated to cover the surface of the tab 6a and the portion 6a to which the active material of the positive electrode 1 is not applied, and the tab 7a of the positive electrode 1 is applied. In the inner circumference thereof, the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2 are combined so that the tab 7 of the negative electrode 2 is positioned at the outermost circumference, and the separator 3 is sandwiched between the spiral electrodes 10. . The high heat of the portion 6a to which the active substance has not been applied is blocked by the overcoating 12 so that the separator does not melt before shutdown. |
