| abstract | A suspension mechanism for mounting the combustion chamber fan motor to the combustion powered hand tool includes a flexible rubber web fixed between the motor retaining ring and the cylinder head mount bracket. The suspension mechanism reduces the axial acceleration of the motor and tunes at least one of damping the vibration of the motor with respect to the tool. The web includes concentric grooves on its top and bottom surfaces and a number of bores on its top surface to provide the necessary flexibility depending on the characteristics of the tool. |
