Apparatus and method and method for manufacturing paper dispenser comprising an insoluble coating |
abstract |
The present invention discloses a dosage form for inserting a substance into the body cavity together with the dosage form itself and a method of forming a coated paper dosage form 10. Also disclosed is a device for coating paper and a method of forming paper into a dispenser. Dosing machines are particularly useful for inserting menstrual tampons into the vagina of a woman. The dispenser includes a tubular member 22 formed from at least one layer of paper and has an inner side and an outer side. The tubular member can hold the material to be inserted. At least one surface of the tubular member is coated with an insoluble coating, wherein the insoluble coating comprises about 95 percent to about 98 percent by weight of the polymeric material and about 2 percent to about 5 percent by weight of the slip agent. The coating provides the tubular member with a dry coefficient of kinetic friction ranging from about 0.35 to 0.56 and a wet coefficient of kinetic friction ranging from about 0.78 to about 1.06. This low kinetic friction dry and wet count allows the dispenser to be easily inserted into the body cavity and the substance to be easily released from the dispenser. |
