abstract | The present invention provides a characteristic article comprising a fibrous web layer that is one or more absorbent materials that are substantially non-hydraulicly entwined. The fibrous web layer has a basis weight of at least about 60 gsm and a density of about 0.25 g / cc or less. The fibrous web layer also has a peak geometric mean tensile strength of at least about 250 g-force per cm width of the fibrous web layer, and at least about 90% by weight of the fiber has a fiber length that does not exceed about 0.4 inches (about 1 cm). Has a fiber content consisting of fibers. In certain shapes, the article includes a backsheet layer and a liquid permeable topsheet disposed to face the backsheet layer. The absorbent structure is sandwiched between the backsheet layer and the topsheet layer, and the absorbent structure has a total absorbent capacity of at least about 300 g of saline. |
