abstract |
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for topical administration comprising a locally acceptable antiviral substance and an anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. This pharmaceutical composition can be used for the prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of herpesvirus infection in mammals, including humans. The invention also relates to the use of a combination of topically acceptable antiviral substances and anti-inflammatory glucocorticoids in the manufacture of a medicament for the prophylactic and therapeutic treatment. |
