abstract | The present invention relates to a serum-free medium for the cultivation of mammalian cells, which comprises insulin, petuin, peptone, ferric citrate and a surfactant in a basic medium consisting of amino acids, vitamins, carbohydrates, inorganic salts, trace elements and cofactors. The serum-free medium of the present invention can further culture mammalian cells at a cell growth rate similar to that in serum-containing medium, which is much cheaper and more economical. |
