titleOfInvention | Thick silicone with elastomeric silicone polymer |
abstract | The low molecular weight siloxane fluid is thickened by the silicone elastomer. Silicone elastomers are prepared by the reaction of ≡Si-H containing siloxanes with unsaturated hydrocarbons such as α, ω-dienes in the presence of low molecular weight siloxane fluids. The ≡SiH siloxane is first reacted with the mono-alkenyl functionalized polyether. The α, ω-diene is then cross-linked in the presence of a low molecular weight siloxane fluid. An elastomer having a polyether group, that is, a gel is produced. The elastomer is swollen with a low molecular weight siloxane fluid under shear force to obtain a homogeneous silicone paste. The silicon paste has excellent diffusibility during rubbing and unique rheological properties in thixotropic and shear thinning. The silicone paste can be easily emulsified with water to form a stable and homogeneous emulsion without the use of a surfactant and intimately mixed. |
