abstract | Disclosed are a cation electrodeposition coating composition and a method for producing the same, wherein the dry coating film of the electrodeposition paint exhibits high functionality as an epoxy-arc multilayer structure, and can be electrodepositioned by minimizing an organic solvent content. The cationic electrodeposition coating composition comprising a resinous phase dispersed in an aqueous medium comprises (a) 40 to 60% by weight of an epoxy-amino addition reaction cationic electrodeposition synthetic resin, (b) 5 to 10% by weight of an amino group-containing aric cationic electrodeposition synthetic resin, (c) 1 to 3 weight percent of a fatty acid ester resin synthesized by transesterification of a styrene-aryl alcohol copolymer with a fatty acid, and (d) 30 to 50 weight percent of a blocked polyisocyanate curing agent. The resin and the organic solvent content are contained in an amount of 2.0% by weight or less based on the cationic electrodeposition resin dispersion. The coating film formed by electrodeposition coating improves a coating film physical property in terms of coating appearance, weather resistance, yellowing resistance, and hardness. |
