titleOfInvention Computer memory with asynchronous pipeline control circuits and asynchronous pipelines
abstract An apparatus for controlling the pipeline asynchronously is disclosed. This control circuit includes an alternating chain of control circuits and detection circuits. When the fullness control circuit precedes the blank control circuit in this chain, this indicates that the data storage element corresponding to the fullness control circuit should transfer its data to the subsequent storage element corresponding to the blank control circuit, and the detection circuit. Generates a move signal. The move signal enables the movement of data elements from the preceding stage to the subsequent stage by setting the preceding control circuit to blank and the subsequent control circuit to full. Since the control circuit is relatively simple and has a predictable signal propagation time, the relative interaction of two adjacent control circuits with respect to the common move signal can be closely controlled. This control circuit can control upstream pipelines, branch pipelines, merged pipelines, and the like.
