titleOfInvention Hollow Frustum Reagent Test Device
abstract A hollow, frustum-shaped disposable device for use in an apparatus for measuring the concentration of analyte in a sample of biological liquid is provided. The smaller end of the frustum has a porous membrane for application to the sample. Preferably, the reagent in the membrane reacts with the analyte to cause a color change. The device is attached to a measuring instrument that measures color change and calculates the concentration of the analyte in the sample. The apparatus allows for remote dosing of the device, which minimizes cross-contamination between the user and the meter. The device is attached and removed from the meter without contact to prevent contamination.
