abstract Linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) produced by single site catalysts has a relatively low modulus compared to polyethylene of similar melt index and density produced by conventional Ziegler-Natta catalysts. Films made from low modulus polyethylene have a soft, flexible "feel" that is unsuitable for some packaging applications. The present invention provides a method for increasing the modulus of elasticity of a single site catalyzed linear low density polyethylene by mixing it with 10 to 2 wt% of high density polyethylene and 200 to 10000 ppm of a nucleating agent.
