titleOfInvention Airgel continuous manufacturing method
abstract The present invention is a method for producing a granulated airgel (1) from a precursor (2), the method comprising: - a mixing step in which the precursor (2) is mixed with a hydrolyzing agent such as water and a synthetic solvent (3) and, if appropriate, a catalyst (4) to obtain a gel; - a granulation step, in which the resulting product is granulated, in particular by cutting a jet of said gel to produce a granulate; - a holding step, in which the granules are kept in contact with the synthesis solvent (3) and the hydrolyzing agent; - a washing step, in which the granules are washed by adding a washing solvent, in particular to extract the hydrolysing agent and, if appropriate, the catalyst (4); - a drying step in which the granules are dried and excess supercritical CO 2 is sent to the synthesis solvent (3) and/or the washing solvent to extract the synthesis solvent (3) and/or the washing solvent including, The granulation step, the holding step, the washing step, and the drying step are carried out at pressures above the critical point of CO 2 , and these conditions are maintained between the steps. The invention also relates to an installation specially configured to implement the method according to the invention.
