The heated aerosol-generating article 10 is designed to be difficult to ignite in the manner of conventional cigarettes. The heated aerosol-generating article 10 is assembled within a wrapper 60 to form a rod having a mouth end 70 and a distal end 80 upstream from the mouth end 70 . , comprising a plurality of components comprising an aerosol-forming substrate 20 . The heated aerosol-generating article 10 comprises a first airflow path through which air drawn into the aerosol-generating article 10 through the mouth end 70 passes through the aerosol-forming substrate 20 and the aerosol through the mouth end 70 . define a second airflow path through which air drawn into the generating article 10 does not pass through the aerosol-forming substrate 20 . The resistance to draw (RTD) of the second airflow path is lower than the RTD of the first airflow path when the heated aerosol-generating article 10 is not coupled to the aerosol-generating device. As a result, the limited airflow through the aerosol-forming substrate makes it difficult for a user to accidentally ignite the aerosol-generating article 10 . |
