abstract | The present invention provides a novel chemical solution for forming a water repellent protective film having a novel catalyst component having various basicities, a method for preparing the same, and a method for producing a surface treatment body using the chemical solution. The chemical for forming a water-repellent protective film of the present invention is a chemical for forming a water-repellent protective film for forming a water-repellent protective film on the surface of a wafer containing a silicon element on its surface, (I) a silylating agent, (II) at least one nitrogen-containing compound among compounds represented by the following general formulas [1] and [2], and (III) organic solvents.
