The present invention relates to a device for acquiring physiological data of a biological subject for determining the level of pain, sedation, anesthesia, consciousness, attention, cognitive function, cognitive cognition or cognitive memory maintenance of said biological subject. The apparatus comprises: means for generating a stimulus to elicit at least one response signal in the biological subject; and means for deriving at least two parameters from a evoked response signal obtained from the means for generating the stimulus. Here, the parameters from the evoked response signal represent at least one of physiological or psychological mechanisms of the biological subject. |
