titleOfInvention Single-step synthesis of lithium-ion battery anode material precursors
abstract The present invention provides an improved method for preparing lithium ion positive electrode materials, particularly for use in batteries. The method includes forming a first solution comprising an anodic oxide precursor and a decomposable feedstock of a first metal suitable for formation of a multi-carboxylic acid. The degradable feedstock decomposes to form a first metal salt in solution, wherein the first metal salt precipitates as a salt of a deprotonated poly-carboxylic acid to form an oxide precursor. The oxide precursor is heated to form the lithium ion positive electrode material.
