abstract The present invention relates to at least a sample container having an accommodation space for accommodating a biological sample, and at least the inner space thereof is not connected to the accommodation space so that a fluid flows and is partially filled with a labeling material having a melting point in the range of -20 to -140°C. A temperature monitoring apparatus for a cryopreserved biological sample comprising one or more chambers. The present invention also provides a method comprising the steps of: a) providing the temperature monitoring device; b) freezing the labeling material, at least one chamber of the labeling material is brought to a first position during freezing, and then at least its position is changed by the influence of gravity when the labeling material in the at least one chamber is melted and/or Alternatively, it provides a method for monitoring the temperature of a cryopreserved sample, including the step of moving to a second position due to a change in shape.
