abstract Method and system for operating a two stage tube trailer to reduce refueling costs A method and system for operating a refueling station tube trailer and compressor to reduce hydrogen refueling costs are provided. The hydrogen refueling station comprises a two-stage refueling device of a pressure vessel in a refueling station tube trailer, the first and second stages of the pressure vessel comprising one or more pressure vessels connected to each other. A separate control unit is coupled to the first and second stages of the pressure vessel, each of the control units coupled to the compressor. The compressor is connected to the high-pressure buffer reservoir by a separate control unit. During operation, the pressure is monitored at each stage. Hydrogen is selectively incorporated between the first stage, the second stage pressure vessel and the high pressure buffer of the pressure vessel bank. Depending on the monitored pressure, one of the first stage of the pressure vessel, the second stage pressure vessel bank and the high pressure buffer is used to refuel the vehicle.
