abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate, comprising the steps of mixing an alkyl alcohol having a water content of 10 to 300 wt ppm with an ethoxide salt catalyst in a reactor; and slowly introducing the rate monomer into the reactor in a molar ratio of 0.6 to 1.0 relative to the alkyl alcohol to prepare an alkyl 3-alkoxy propionate.
