The present invention relates to reacting a silicate with an acidifying agent to obtain a precipitated silica suspension; filtering the precipitated silica suspension to obtain a filter cake; performing a decomposition operation comprising adding at least one aluminum compound to the filter cake; It relates to a novel method for preparing precipitated silica, in which a drying step is performed after the decomposition operation.
