titleOfInvention | Characterization of microorganisms via maldi-tof |
abstract | The present invention provides a method for performing at least one characterization of at least one microbial population in the presence of at least one antimicrobial agent by mass spectrometry using a matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization mass spectrometry technique known as MALDI. It relates to a method of manufacturing a feature analysis region. This method comprises successively the following steps: -consisting of providing an assay plate comprising at least one assay region carrying an antimicrobial agent for characterization by the MALDI technique; - depositing at least one microbial population onto the assay area contacted with the antimicrobial agent; an incubation step consisting in preserving the assay plate under conditions and for a time sufficient for the interaction of the antimicrobial agent and microorganism present; and - dipping a matrix suitable for MALDI technology onto the analysis area. The present invention relates to methods, assays and uses associated therewith for characterization and functionalization. |
