Disclosed are systems and methods for the synthesis of Fmoc/t Bu solution phase peptides, including the development of novel benzyl-type GAP protecting groups, and uses related thereto. This novel GAP protecting group is used instead of a polymeric support to facilitate C to N Fmoc peptide synthesis without chromatography, recrystallization or polymeric support. GAP groups can be added and removed in high yield. |
