titleOfInvention Method for providing the information for prognosis of gastric cancer
abstract The present invention relates to a method for providing information for predicting the prognosis of gastric cancer, and more particularly, the maximum standard intake coefficient of primary cancer in F-18 FDG (fluoro-2-deoxyglucose) PET/CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) (T_SUVmax) and the maximum standard uptake coefficient of lymph nodes (N_SUVmax) to derive a PET score, and to use the PET score to provide information for predicting the prognosis of gastric cancer. In the present invention, the PET score in which the maximum standard uptake coefficient (T_SUVmax) of primary cancer and the maximum standard uptake coefficient of lymph nodes (N_SUVmax) obtained from F-18 FDG PET/CT before surgery is combined is an independent prognostic factor of gastric cancer. As it was confirmed that the new gastric cancer prognostic prediction model in which the PET score and AJCC TNM staging were integrated showed better prognostic predictive ability compared to the existing AJCC TNM staging, it is possible to effectively provide information on the prognosis of gastric cancer. In particular, it has the effect of providing information on the overall disease-specific survival rate after gastric cancer surgery.
