abstract |
The present invention provides a device capable of accumulating electric charge even without being charged by an external power source and extending an operating time without using an external power source. To this end, the supercapacitor consists of a sealed protective housing and first and second electrodes electrically insulated from each other. One or both of these electrodes are also insulated from the housing. The gap between the cell and the electrode is filled with the electrolyte. A carbon-containing material including isotope C14 is coated on the surface of the first electrode. A method for manufacturing a supercapacitor includes the steps of preparing first and second electrodes coated with a surface layer made of a carbon-containing material, and placing the electrodes in a sealed housing to electrically insulate them from each other; introducing the isotope C-14 into the carbon-containing material layer. |
