The present inventors studied the combination of sildenafil and a ROCK inhibitor for stroke treatment based on clinical knowledge related to stroke treatment. As it was confirmed for the first time that the size of brain damage due to stroke is significantly reduced compared to that, the pharmaceutical composition according to the present invention can be usefully used not only for the treatment of stroke but also for the study of various ischemic cerebrovascular diseases including ischemic stroke. is expected to
