abstract The present invention relates to a fuel additive composition for controlling the formation of deposits in fuel injection systems and engines, or internal combustion engines, and for reducing the already formed deposits formed, comprising (a) isoborneol or (b) borneol; It relates to the fuel additive composition, and to a method of use thereof. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a fuel additive composition for controlling the formation of deposits and for reducing the formation of preformed deposits in fuel forming systems and engines, or internal combustion engines, comprising: (a) isoborneol, or (b) ) to a fuel additive composition comprising bornenol and methods of use thereof. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a fuel forming system and a fuel additive composition for controlling deposit formation in an engine or internal combustion engine and for reducing already formed deposits formed, comprising an oxirane or oxide compound and (a) isoborneol or (b) a fuel additive composition comprising a mixture of borneols and methods of using the same. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a composition comprising a fuel and a fuel additive composition of the present invention.
