Compositions, kits, and methods for reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) in a subject (e.g., a human), in a therapeutically effective amount to promote aqueous humor outflow through the TM in at least one eye of the subject and reduce IOP in the subject, At least one naturally occurring or synthesized variant or analog of a lipid (e.g., phosphoserine, phosphocholine, psychosine or other glycolipid) that is endogenous to non-glaucoma waterproofing and lowers IOP in the subject. These compositions can be used to treat glaucoma, including, for example, primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and normal pressure glaucoma (NTG). |
