titleOfInvention | Polymer dispersions and sound deadener compositions with emulsion polymer from two-stage preparation |
abstract | The present invention provides an ethoxylated (meth)acrylate monomer, an acid monomer, and a C 1 to C 20 hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate as a hydrophilic monomer; And also at least one hydrophobic major monomer selected from C 1 to C 20 alkyl (meth)acrylates and vinylaromatic compounds; And also optionally, an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising a polymer obtainable by emulsion polymerization from a monomer mixture comprising additional monomers. This polymer can be prepared by two or more stages of emulsion polymerization, in the first polymerization step, the main fraction or the total amount of the hydrophilic monomer is used, and in the second polymerization step, the main fraction or the total amount of the hydrophobic monomer is used. The polymer dispersions are suitable as binders for aqueous particle dispersions, more particularly for noise reducer compositions, comprising inorganic fine particles and optionally also organic fine particle solids. The invention also relates to a method for damping vibration or vibration of a vehicle component. |
