abstract | The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, treating or improving neurodegenerative diseases containing green tea saponin. Green tea saponin of the present invention inhibits acetylcholinesterase that degrades acetylcholine, which is a brain neurotransmitter, increases the activity of α-secretase that inhibits the production of beta amyloid, and β- and γ are involved in the production of beta amyloid. -As it exhibits the effect of fundamentally blocking the production of beta-amyloid by inhibiting the activity of secretase, it can be usefully used as an active ingredient in health foods or pharmaceutical compositions for preventing, treating or improving neurodegenerative diseases. |
