titleOfInvention | Polynucleotides for treating oncogenic viral polypeptide positive tumors |
abstract | This document relates to polynucleotides encoding antigenic polypeptides that elicit an immune response against tumorigenic viral polypeptides. Also provided are compositions comprising a polynucleotide encoding an antigenic polypeptide and a method of using the same. In the methods provided, the virus may be a human papilloma virus. In some embodiments, a method of killing cells expressing a first oncogenic viral polypeptide in a subject is provided. The method comprises administering to a subject a sufficient amount of a composition to initiate an immune response against a first oncogenic viral peptide, wherein the composition comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a polynucleotide provided herein, wherein the immune response Is effective in causing cytotoxic effects in cells. In some embodiments, the polynucleotide comprises a second nucleotide sequence encoding a second antigenic polypeptide. The first oncogenic viral polypeptide can be E6 and the second oncogenic viral polypeptide can be E7. |
