abstract To provide a gas barrier film that satisfies high gas barrier properties, excellent pinhole resistance, bandage resistance, and tear straightness at the same time, and can be particularly suitably used for retort pouch packaging, beverage packaging, and pharmaceutical packaging applications. 60% by weight or more of polybutylene terephthalate, as polyester resins other than PBT resins, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), polybutylene naphthalate (PBN), polypropylene terephthalate (PPT), etc. PBT in which dicarboxylic acids such as isophthalic acid, orthophthalic acid, naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, biphenyldicarboxylic acid, cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, adipic acid, azelaic acid, and sebacic acid are copolymerized in addition to the polyester resin of A gas barrier film, wherein an inorganic thin film layer is laminated on at least one surface of a biaxially stretched polyester film comprising a thermoplastic resin composition containing a resin selected from resins.
