High strength polyurethane foam compositions and methods |
abstract |
A high-strength polyurethane foam composition and a method of making the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the advanced polyurethane foam comprises a strength improving additive comprising one or more polycarbonate polyols derived from the copolymerization of CO 2 and one or more epoxides. In one aspect, the inventive method comprises replacing a portion of the polyether polyol on the B-side of the foam formulation with one or more polycarbonate polyols derived from the copolymerization of CO 2 and one or more epoxides. |
