abstract | The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating cell aging-related diseases containing salinomycin, which acts differently depending on the type of senescent cells, as an active ingredient, wherein the salinomycin is a composition for aging-induced fibroblasts and vascular endothelial cells. Salinomycin acts differently depending on the type of cell, as it has been confirmed that it exhibits a senomorphic effect that restores function and morphology, while a senolytic effect that selectively kills aging-induced retinal pigment epithelial cells. Thus, obesity and diabetes caused by cellular aging, neurodegenerative diseases, osteoarthritis, atherosclerosis, chronic skin damage, senile eye disease and tissue fibrosis disease can be effectively prevented or treated, and can be provided as a composition for life extension. |
