titleOfInvention | Composition for increasing sink strength of sink tissues comprising expression or activity inhibitor of JULGI protein |
abstract | The present invention is a composition for increasing the nutrient storage capacity of a plant nutrient storage tissue containing an expression or activity inhibitor of a JULGI protein or a protein having 80% or more homology to the protein, and increasing the nutrient storage capacity of plants using the composition. It relates to a method, and a plant having an increased nutrient storage capacity through the method. By treating the JULGI protein according to the present invention or a composition containing an expression or activity inhibitor of a protein having 80% or more homology to the protein on a plant, photosynthetic products are transferred from the plant to the storage organs in the form of starch and sugar. Phloem development, an organ that plays the most important role in storage, can be enhanced, and by increasing the storage capacity of plant storage organs, productivity of various crops including vascular plants in which JULGI is conservatively expressed can be increased. . In addition, the method of increasing the nutrient storage capacity of plants according to the present invention has the advantage of overcoming the conventional limitations in that it is a method of producing high value-added crops free from GMO problems without introducing foreign genes, unlike conventional methods. |
