abstract | Provided is a liquid crystal aligning agent that forms a preferred liquid crystal aligning film in a liquid crystal display device having excellent display quality. The liquid crystal aligning agent contains at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of a polyimide precursor having a metabenzyl type side chain structure and a side chain structure containing a photoreactive group, and a polyimide obtained by imidizing the polyimide precursor. Is prepared. The polyimide precursor is formed by performing a copolymerization reaction with tetracarboxylic dianhydride 2 anhydride using a diamine compound for realizing a metabenzyl type side chain structure and a diamine compound having a photoreactive group. Using the liquid crystal aligning agent, a vertical alignment type liquid crystal aligning film having light alignment properties is formed. A liquid crystal display element is manufactured using the liquid crystal aligning film. |
