The present invention relates to an epitope of thioredoxin 1 (Trx1) antigen and its use, and more particularly, to provide the epitope and an antibody or antigen-binding fragment binding thereto. The epitope region of the human Trx1 antigen identified in the present invention can be usefully used to develop improved antibodies to improve the binding affinity of the anti-Trx1 antibody. In addition, the improved antibody of the present invention has better binding affinity to thioredoxin 1 than the existing anti-Trx1 antibody, and has high sensitivity and specificity, and is useful for improving the performance of the breast cancer diagnostic kit. Furthermore, it is superior in sensitivity and specificity to detect thioredoxin 1 using an antibody that specifically binds thioredoxin 1 of the present invention than to detect CA15-3, which is another existing breast cancer diagnostic biomarker. This can significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of breast cancer diagnosis. |
