abstract | The present invention provides a transdermal drug delivery system comprising a steroid as an active agent, wherein the steroid can be clobetasol propionate, betamethasone dipropionate, impononide, or loteprednol etabonate. Transdermal drug delivery systems also include a pressure sensitive adhesive layer and a support, wherein the steroid is present in the pressure sensitive adhesive layer, and the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is provided on the support. Transdermal drug delivery systems can be applied on the eyelids of patients in need of their treatment in order to treat eyelid diseases such as acidosis, blepharitis or meibomian gland dysfunction. |
