titleOfInvention Composite hollow fibre membrane with compatible braided support filaments
abstract The filtration membrane has a support structure 12 comprising filaments 400, 410 and is coated with dope to form a polymeric membrane layer. Some or all of the filaments comprise a second polymer that is soluble or swellable in the solvent of the dope. The support structure can be braided into the eye. One or more of the eye yarns 400 may include a filament comprising a second polymer. In one example, the braided tubular support is coated with dope based on PVDF in NMP. Some or all of the yarns of the braid are made of a two-component core-shell PET-PVDF filament. With regard to as little as 4% of the yarns in the braids made of bicomponent filaments, the peel strength and pull force of the membrane is improved compared to the braids made entirely of PET yarns. In the experimental example, a non-peelable composite membrane was produced. Membranes can be used, for example, in the field of water or wastewater filtration.
